How Green Tea Works in Skin Care Routine

Green tea is so good for you. This is a fact. Actually, there was a study recently where a researcher exposed minnows to extremely radioactive substances. Under normal circumstances they would have all died of cancer in days. Amazingly, they survived. How did they stay alive? Instead of water in their tank, they had green tea.

This may not sound like such a humane idea. It is likely that not many people do. But, you really have to like the results. This kind of news makes me want to bathe in green tea everyday or at least drink about a gallon or two a day.

More and more people are realizing the healing and restorative powers of green tea. Green tea and green tea extracts are becoming more popular because of this. You can get candies, sodas and even coffee with green tea infusions. That is just in addition to the many green tea blends that are available for consumption.

However, despite the green tea mania, one area has not gone green tea crazy. That is the skin care area. There is a lot of talk about it, but few companies are actually doing anything about it. What people aren’t aware of is that what makes green tea excellent for you body also makes it perfect for your skin.

Green tea is loaded with anti-oxidants. When consumed in liquid form, the antioxidants quickly absorb into your body and do advantageous things, like improve your immune system. But, when you put it on your face, these anti-oxidants will start working right away to defend your exterior as well.

Antioxidants are really excellent for your skin. For instance, they stave off free radicals. These free radicals are molecules that are in the air and will assault your skin causing wrinkles. Sometimes, they can damage skin cells so much that they actually become cancerous.
